It seems to become almost every lecture that I’m reading the word colour without a u in it. Probably just as noticeable is the disappearance of s and it’s now ever-present cousin z.
You see it everywhere. Neighbour is now neighbor. Sulphur is now sulfur. How on earth do Americans spell Phosphorus? It is absolutely insanity that our spelling is being converted to the American dialect. As I see more and more British lecturers using these spellings, it makes me wonder… what has become of our traditional language? Oh and by the way, it’s aluminium.
